Aaron Edward “Ed” Scott, 89, of Princeton, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. He was born on January 11, 1928 in Gibson County to the late, Samuel E. and Gladys B. (Minnis) Scott. He worked from 1952-1967 at the Princeton Police Dept. He worked at WRAY where he was known as Grandpa Ed, helping with the Country Gold Program on Saturday mornings. He owned and operated Captain Gyros Restaurant and poolroom. Ed was an avid pool player. He was an announcer at the Gibson County Fair for motocross bike racing and owner and operator of the Patoka Raceway Moto-Cross Track. He was a member of the State and National order of F.O.P. and was one of the founders of the Princeton chapter. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, 50 yr. member of the Eagles, and a member of the American Legion. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite. He was past president and member of the Oak Carnagie Alumni. He served in the Indiana National Guard. Ed was an avid fisherman and boater and loved being with his family and going to the grandchildren’s activities. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Frances (Scales) Scott of Princeton; daughter, Gayle (Joe) Cochran of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Joe D. Cochran, Christa King, Ty (Shellia) Cochran, Brandon, Braden and Branson Scott; and 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandson (on the way). He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Tom Scott and Jeffrey Scott; granddaughter, Lorri Marie Cochran; and 2 brothers, Dr. Bob Scott and Bill Scott. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Paul Lynch. Burial will be at the Decker Cemetery near Patoka. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time on Wednesday at the Colvin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
