Barbara J. Blaize, 89, of Princeton, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit in Princeton. She was born January 16, 1928 in Terre Haute, IN to Leslie and Marian (Shannon) Soules. She was the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Princeton for 50 years. Barbara joined First Baptist Church in 1938 and was the oldest member. She served her church for many years, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school for many of those years. She served as a Pink Lady since 1994 with the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Carl Blaize of Princeton; 5 children, Stephen Blaize (Tammy) of Princeton, Larry Blaize (Lisa) of Allendale, IL, Carla Snyder (Steve) of Romeoville, IL, Karen King (Tom) of Indianapolis and Bruce Blaize (Kim) of Princeton; 12 grandchildren, Nicole & Joshua Dixon, Whitney Blaize, Erin Lanthrip (Scott), Jon Blaize, Rachel Kochert (Ryan), Brad Snyder (Mary Lynn), Dan Snyder (Kate), Jordan King (Angie), Kyle King, Bethany and Marisa Blaize; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents; a grandson, Joel David Blaize; and a brother, Warren Soules.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 800 West Faith Blvd, Princeton, IN 47670. Burial will be in the Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the church.
