Dorthy E. Anthis, 85, of Patoka, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home. She was born in Patoka, May 18, 1932 to the late Willis Cullen McKannan and Barbara Jean (Newnum) McKannan and resided in Patoka most of her life. Dorthy is survived by her 3 children, Dennis L. Anthis (Linda S.) of Columbus, IN, Donna E. Bates (Jeff) of Patoka and Dana M. Anthis of Patoka; 8 grandchildren, Heather Carlson, Jay, Oliver, Eli and Sydney Anthis, John, Chris and Scott Bates; 5 great grandchildren, Finley Anthis, Ava and Everett Bates, Kennedie Carlson and Alex Evans; 2 sisters, Sherrell (Jack) Page of Martinsville, IN and Mary (Bill) Neal of Allendale, Michigan; her caregiver and special friend, Loretta Wethington; also several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Anthis on April 18, 1980; and 3 brothers, Wayne, Darrell and Dale McKannan.
