Howard E. “Bo” Hardiman, 85, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his home in Princeton. He was born on February 28, 1932 in Danville, IL to Frank and Oma (Marshall) Hardiman. Bo served as a police officer for several years before becoming Chief of Police for the City of Princeton from 1984-1996 and then retired in 1997. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church in Princeton. He was a member of the F.O.P. and the Masonic Lodge. Bo enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, playing golf and softball. He loved to grill for family gatherings. He is survived by his 5 daughters, Elizabeth “Libby” Jenkins (Perry) of Princeton, Darlene Neikirk (Larry) of Lancaster, IL, Donna Greer (Kenny) of Princeton, Carol Owens (Jack) of Princeton and Teresa Palmer (Robert) of Sedalia, KY; 18 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Frederick Hardiman of Iowa; sister, Barbara Chavis of Princeton; several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary E. (Stewart) Hardiman on July 4, 2016; 5 brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Rev. Floyd Edwards and Rev. Rodney Coffer. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm on Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside service by Retired Military Veterans.
