Randall L. Garrett, 76, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was born June 14, 1941 in Johnson, IN to the late Lewis Martin Garrett and Dorothy (Sharp) Garrett and had been a lifetime resident of Gibson County. He retired in 2001 from the former Whirlpool Corp. in Evansille where he had worked for 39 years. He was secretary of the Princeton Bowling Assn. for 40 years. He was the only person to ever serve two terms as president of the Indiana Bowling Assn. He was a member of the Hall of Fame of both the local and state bowling associations and bowled on leagues for many many years in Princeton. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 634 in Princeton.

Randy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Sue (Shanks) Garrett of Princeton; 3 sisters, Verneta Coplen of Fort Branch, Voris Brakmeier of Princeton and Shirleen Funkhouser of Osceola, IN; 2 brothers, Clifton Garrett (Betty) of Newburgh and Anthony Garrett (Jean) of Evansville; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; friends and in-laws, Dave Shanks of Evansville, Thomas Shanks of Evansville, Van Shanks of Patoka, Jan Dill of Princeton, Patricia House of Evansville and Linda Cuzzort of Owensboro, KY; also several special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Portia Garrett and a son, Monty Garrett.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Tim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Colvin Funeral Home. The family extends a special thank you to OHA of Evansville, Dr. Stephens and the radiologists for their compassionate care. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
