Angie David and I just read a short obituary about Wendell, in the Times Leader Newspaper tonight, We remember Wendell as a humble young man who was the best roommate David could have ask for at Southern Illinois Vocational Tech. Institute in Carterville, Illinois. It wasn't long ago that Wendell's Mother was David's Dad's neighbor at the Elderly Apartments here in McLeansboro, Il. Our Deepest Sympathy to you and your family. May the Lord Comfort you in loss. He was a Fine Young Man and Good Friend of David's during their time at VTI

I grew up in the same community as Wendell and Jennie and am very sorry to hear of his passing. I have fond memories of our Grade and High School years together. I can attest to Wendell's abilities for wood craft because we had three years of Industrial Shop together in High School and Wendell had his skills at fourteen years of age. I lost another class mate too early.

I fell in love with Angie and her parents when I was a child. Then she married Wendell, and I fell in love with him. I am blessed to have a needlepoint piece from Moma and the frame is from Wendell. As Rev. Brian Emmick said today, Wendell lives on in his Masterpieces, and that's what they are: perfect and delightful. He is a Gentleman and a rare talent. Thank you, Angie for sharing him. My Love, Maddy Gay

Wendell embodied the definition of a community servant. There are very few -
if any - parts of Princeton/Gibson County that he hasn't touched in so form or another. His legacy of work with the Lions Club, and other organizations, speaks for itself and will be remembered fondly for years to come. He was truly one of God's servants here on Earth. And he serves alongside Our Father in heaven.

Angie,
We are so very sorry for your loss...I remember treating Wendell when I filled in at Dr. John McCleary's office many years ago. He was always kind and so passionate about what he believed in. I always read his "letters to the editor" in the Clarion. May God's peace comfort you and your family during this difficult time. God Bless, Tina Murphy and family
