Claire Marie Stone, 88, of Princeton, IN was called home to the Lord April 7, 2024. She was born September 23, 1935 in Laconia, NH to the late Omer Sevigny and Blanche (Nadeau) Sevigny. Claire graduated from Laconia High School. She married C. Robert Stone on June 30, 1956 and was blessed with 41 years of marriage before his passing on February 20, 1998. Claire was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lady Elk’s Auxiliary, and The Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of a special Bridge group that played on Wednesday's, Brunch group, and had a game day every Sunday. Claire was a very social person and loved having a strong social presence. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, Nintendo with the grandchildren, dominoes with family, working puzzles, and crosswords. Claire liked feeding and watching her birds. She loved to travel and was always on the go. Claire was a special person that is loved by so many and will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Hector “Pete” Sevigny, Normand Sevigny, Rudy Sevigny, Rita Therrien, Gisele “Terry” Drouin, Jeannette Joyal, and Irene Thibault; and special friend, Toni Newton.
Claire is survived by her children, Robert (Maria) Stone, Kathy Schmits, and Karen (Pam Slinker) Stone; grandchildren, Andrew Stone, Matthew Stone, Timothy Jr. (Shelby McFall) Schmits, Kimberly (Will) Bent, and Paige (Ben) Kennard; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Aubrey, Jacob, Faith, Allton, Chloee, Addison, and Austyn; and sister, Annette (Dan) Davis.
The funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Father Ray Brenner. Interment will follow at Decker Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home.
