Mary Tate Obituary

Mary Ann "Shorty" Tate, 93, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born July 13, 1930 in St. Joe, Indiana and was the best homemaker to her family. Mary Ann was a life member of the Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary and Hillside United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Princeton Country Club. Mary Ann enjoyed spending her time riding motorcycles and playing golf. She was dearly loved and will be missed.

Mary Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Judi Tate of Princeton; grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Truxal of Princeton and Mark Truxal of Princeton, great-grandchildren, Josh (Kelsey) Truxal of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Joni (Zach) Warren of Rockport, Jordyn (Jason) Webber of Bowling Green, and Toria Cook of Haubstadt; great-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Luke, and Sarah Truxal, HuntLeigh, Laken and OakLynn Warren, Josie and Jax Webber, and Carter Harvey; and 3 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise (Blackstone) Mason; husband of 45 years, James O. Tate; granddaughter, Julie Tate Stallings; 2 sisters; and a brother.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, April 21, 2023 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Reverend Craig Duke. Interment will follow at Fairview Church Cemetery in Francisco. Visiting hours will be held from 11 until 1:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Hillside United Methodist Church located at  828 W Archer Rd, Princeton, IN 47670.
