Bonnie S. Rehnquist , 77 of Princeton, IN passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born February 17, 1942 in Mt. Carmel IL, to Charles S. and Evelyn (Frick) Schrader.
Bonnie received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nursing from the University of Evansville. She was a retired Registered Nurse, last serving as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She had previously taught Practical Nursing at Wabash Valley College and was also head of the program. She had also been Director of Nursing at Gibson General Hospital.
Bonnie was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Princeton; served on the board of the U. of E. Alumni Foundation; former volunteer for the American Heart Association; served on the Board for the Dollars for Scholars; a Past President on the Habitat for Humanity Board; member and Past President of the P.E.O., member of the Master Gardeners of Gibson County and the Library Book Club; she was a Past President of the Tourist Club and the Sorosis Club. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of 2 quilting groups.
She is survived by her husband, George Rehnquist of Princeton; sister, Janet Schauf (Jerry) of Monticello, IL; two nieces and two nephews, Nancy Schauf DeBroka (Bryan) and their children, Callum and Josie, Adam Schauf (Heather), Lesley Schrader Hipsher (Curt) and their children, Luke and Ty, and Frank Schrader and his son, Jaxon.
She was preceded in death by her parents: and a brother, David E. Schrader.
There will be a memorial service 1 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN, with Rev. Steve Schwier officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton is honored to serve the Rehnquist family.
