Carolyn June Taylor, 84, of Princeton, passed away Monday, December 23, 2019 at her home. She was born May 2, 1935 in Princeton to the late Earl L. and Christine E. (Vick) Lyles, and was a lifetime resident of Princeton. She had worked at the former Potter & Brumfield in Princeton for 35 years, and then for the Indiana Department of Corrections until her retirement. After that she enjoyed working at Famous Barr and Walmart.
Carolyn was a former member of a local Home Economics Club, she loved angels, arts and crafts and traveling and vacations, and her grandchildren and all of their activities. She was also a foster parent to numerous children.
She is survived by her 5 children, Kenna Berry (Fred) of Princeton, Craig Hardiman of Princeton, Lisa Greer (Winfred) of Princeton, Dean Taylor (Autumn) of Patoka and Denny Taylor of Princeton; a sister, Alice Johnson (George) of Hampton, VA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and also, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Napolean B. Taylor on July 3, 1997; 2 sons, Lawrence and Tony Hardiman; 2 brothers, Wayne and Lester Lyles; a sister, Leatha Ballard; and a grandson, Zachary Hardiman.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) Friday, December 27, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Floyd Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station.
