Clifton L. Thompson

October 19, 1936 ~ March 17, 2018 (age 81)

Clifton L. Thompson 81, of Princeton passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born Oct. 19, 1936 in Ft. Branch, to Hollie Harris and Ruth Vivian (Warren) Thompson. 

Cliff had lived in Princeton for the past 5 years, moving here from Patoka.  He was retired from Whirlpool Corporation where he worked for several years. He was a member of Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton.  He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and raised horses for many years.  In his younger years he would participate in rodeos.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Thompson (Brenda) of Ft. Branch; 3 step-children, Janice Nix (Bernd) of Germany, Jean Perry of Princeton, Larry Barber (Trina) of Evansville; 8 grandchildren, Shawn Thompson, Christian Nix, Melisa Glode, Daniel Nix, Zachary Barber, Hannah Barber, Stacey Lloyd and Stephanie Jenkins; several great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Mae Thompson on May 31, 2017; son, Rick Thompson; 2 brothers, Ollie Harris Thompson Jr., Robert Thompson;  and sister, Lora Allen.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Kevin Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch.  Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Thursday.
