Don Eugene Bishop, 72, of Patoka, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. He was born on July 23, 1947 in Patoka, IN to Leonard C. & Goldie A. (McCrary) Bishop. He lived in Patoka all his lifetime. He was a mechanic at Scotty’s Lawn Equipment, retiring in 2009. He previously worked at George Equipment and Gibson County CO-OP. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a life member of the Ft. Branch VFW. He was a former member of the Patoka Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and gardening. He loved his river camp on White River and enjoyed helping other people repair things.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Bishop of Patoka; daughter, Mary Williams (Brian) of Ft. Branch; son, Donnie Bishop (Stephanie) of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Eli Bishop, Rhiannon Bishop, Maddon Williams, Max Williams and Garrett & Shayna Dean; 1 great granddaughter, Stella Dean; brother, Jim Bishop (Jeannie) of Patoka; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ellen Roach, Madeline Moyer and Anna Lee Bishop; and brothers, Vaughn & Jack Bishop.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 1, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Pastor Andrew Johnson. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home. Military graveside rites by Retired Military Veterans.
