Elinor Belle (Williams) Wolfe

Elinor Belle (Williams) Wolfe, 91, died Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born in Patoka, Indiana, February 28, 1928, the youngest of 5 daughters to Stancil and Bessie (Spore) Williams. Her parents and sisters June, Buelah, Nina, and Violet all preceded her. She was very close to her sisters and all the brother-in laws, nieces and nephews in the Williams family. One of her favorite stories was about delivering do-nuts, cigarettes and snacks as a young girl to the prisoners while her father Stancil Williams was the Gibson County Sheriff. At home, as a working farm girl, she often delivered fresh milk to neighbors directly from the farm, earning the nickname “half pint”. As a teenager she was active on the tumbling team, a tap dancer, and cheerleader for the Patoka Wrens. She married Maurice (Reece) Wolfe, December 21, 1947, who preceded her in death March 29, 2006, after 58 years together. After raising 6 children, she worked for many years at Hansen Mfg., and enjoyed the monthly reunion meetings of former employees. She was an avid coin collector, loved old westerns, quilting, and was a serious follower of Hoosier Basketball.

She is survived by children Tony (Debbie), Marianne Mullen, Vicki Montgomery, Charles Ted, Toby (Lori), and Eric (Sherri): 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be at Colvin Funeral Home, in Princeton, Indiana, from 4-8 p.m., on Thursday, May 30, 2019. A private graveside service, conducted by Rev. Trevor Murray, will take place at a later time by family members at the Wolfe Cemetery located on the original 140 year old home place.
