Forrest E. “Mac” McDonald, 91, of Francisco, passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at The Waters in Princeton. He was born on January 1, 1929 in Pike County, IN to Olney and Genevieve (Haberle) McDonald. He had lived in Francisco for 6 years, moving from Oakland City. Forrest served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a retired coalminer, working 50 years at Amax Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA Union Local. He was a collector of antiques, liked old cars and enjoyed eating out.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty (Loveless) McDonald; daughter, Marcy Mohler (Joe) of Boonville; and 4 grandchildren, Collin, Carson, Irina and Alena Mohler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Norman & Harold McDonald; and 3 sisters, Norma McDonald, Wanda Whitt and Rita Hall.
Funeral service will be held graveside at 11:30 am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Williams Cemetery, east of Oakland City, officiated by Rev. Darin Nossett. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Military graveside services by Retired Military Veterans.
