Gary Lee Patterson, 73, of rural Princeton, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, due to pneumonia. He was born at home in Princeton, August 9, 1945 to the late William Patterson and Virginia (Montgomery) Patterson. He attended Princeton High School. Gary was employed by the City of Princeton for 20 years as street commissioner and prior to that by Pioneer Seed Company.
Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis (Hasselbrinck) Patterson of Princeton; a daughter, Natalie Kay (Patterson) Clemens and her husband, Robert Clemens of New Baden, IL; grandsons, Joshua Clemens of New Baden, IL and Christopher Clemens (Katie) of Carlyle, IL; great grandchild, Alice Clemens of Carlyle, IL; a son, Scott Patterson and his wife, Holly (Heaton) Patterson of Hazleton, IN; a granddaughter, Paige Patterson of Hazleton; a sister, Judy Cornoyer of Princeton; brothers, Jerry Patterson (Linda) of Princeton and David Patterson (Debbie) of Island Lake, IL; a brother-in-law, David Hasselbrinck (Norma); sisters-in-law, Janet Wheeler and Mavis Kruse (Terry).
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, John Wheeler and Bob Cornoyer.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. W. David Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lucas Cemetery near Fort Branch. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home.
