Georgia Ann Marvell, 79 of Mackey, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the home of her daughter, with whom she had been staying, in Velpen, IN. She was born Aug. 23, 1937 in Giro, IN to Carl and Eunice (Robinson) Marvel. She had lived in Mackey since 1981 moving there from Buckskin. She owned and operated G&L Variety Store in Mackey for 24 years. She married her husband, Vesper Frank Marvell on March 20, 1954, at the Patoka Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1997, along with her parents, 1 brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by daughters, Paula Whitehead (Larry) of Patoka, Sherri Bedwell (Mark) of Ft. Branch, and Angela Denu (Steve) of Velpen; son , Mike Marvell (Lynn) of Somerville; sister Mary Jo Ruppel (Ron) of Stendal; brother, Bill Marvel (Cheryl) of Monroe City, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jeff Pinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the Colvin Funeral Home.
