Georgia Mason Obituary

Georgia L. Mason, 95, of Winslow, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at River Pointe Health Campus in Evansville. She was born on February 3, 1924 in her home in Raglesville, Daviess County, Indiana to the late Merlin Racy and Lola May (Ramsey) Stuckey and graduated from Odon High School. She worked as a forklift driver and shell gauger for a couple of years at Crane Naval Depot and as co-owner of Mason’s General Store in Coe, Pike County for 6 years. She married Ivan Mason on January 12, 1946 and they were blessed with 46 years together before he passed on March 14th, 1992. Georgia was a member of New Liberty General Baptist Church in Coe. She was an avid Indiana University fan and loved watching the Los Angeles Dodgers. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Georgia is survived by her children, Shirley (Allan) Crecelius of Newburgh, Gloria (Stuart Batterman) Mason of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Linda Mason-Weitkamp of Lynnville, and Ivan Mason, Jr. of Evansville; sister, Marjorie Angerer of Franklin; 4 grandchildren, Suzette Humphrey, Heath (Patty) Crecelius, Kelli (Jim) Lutterman, and Joel Mason Batterman (Julie Brock); 6 great-grandchildren, Colton Humphrey, Connor Purdue, Hunter Purdue, Kaleigh Humphrey, Loralee Purdue, and Mina Crecelius; and sisters-in-law, Omadeen Stuckey of Indianapolis, Lois Stuckey of Odon, and Marynelle Greene of Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Matthew Paul Young; and brothers, Merlin, Dayton, Dwight, and Claude “Sam” Stuckey; and sister, Helen Burdette.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM CST Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Gary Pancake. Interment will follow at Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon. A visitation will be held from 4 until 8:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2020 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
