James David Warnsman, 86, of Huntingburg, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at his home in Huntingburg, IN. He was born June 28, 1932 in Gibson County, IN to George and Ruth (McCormack) Warnsman. He graduated from Oakland City High School and attended Oakland City University. He also graduated from University of Evansville. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired as Vice President of Indiana Operations from Old Ben Coal Company. He had been with the company for 30 years. He was a member of the Jasper Gun Club and a former member of the Pike County Bird Club.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Rodimel (Ed) of Washington, Cathy Hayes of Oakland City and David Warnsman (Heather) of Bloomington; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Peggy Warnsman of Oakland City and Carol Guimond of Pensacola, FL; brother-in-law, Robert Hightower of Oakland City; uncle, John Warnsman of Huntingburg; and several nieces and nephews .
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Catherine Warnsman in 2013; and brother, Jack Warnsman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 until 8 pm (CST) on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, 323 North Main St., Oakland City, IN 47660.
