Jan Nelson

Jan Nelson, 78, of Owensville and formerly of Princeton and Oakland, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born October 19, 1939 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Curtiss McManus and Virginia O. (Moore) Knowles. She attended Hilltop Baptist Church in Oakland, Arkansas.

She is survived by her children, Tim Nelson (Joanne DeKemper) of Princeton, Russell Nelson of Winslow and Ian Joseph Nelson (Cynthia) of French Lick; 2 grandchildren, Austin and Mya Nelson; 3 great grandchildren, Jersey, Isabella and Dillinger; brother-in-law, Terry Barker of Shawnee, Kansas; sister-in-law, Sally Kimbley of Bedford; mother-in-law, Dorothy Nelson of Bedford; and nieces, Myra Barker of Olympia, WA and Julie House (Derrick) of Leawood, KS.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Earl Nelson in 2009; and a sister, Kay Barker.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am CDT on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Sunset Cemetery in Winslow, IN, officiated by Pastor Mick Finch. Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
