Joyce L. (Perry) Deffendall

Joyce L. Deffendall, 56 of Princeton, IN passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. She was born on August 16, 1962 in Princeton to James and June (Hillman) Perry. Joyce was a manager at I.G.A. in Princeton, working there for 40 years. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Princeton.

Joyce enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and her grandchildren. She loved to cook and grill and hang out on the deck with her husband. She also loved hummingbirds.

She is survived by her husband, Kelly Deffendall of Princeton; children, Mallory Vermillion (Robert) of Ft. Branch, Allison Boxell (Alex) of Princeton and Richard Deffendall (Madison Coomer) of Princeton; 3 grandchildren, Daynica Vermillion, Carter Boxell and Stella Deffendall; brothers and sisters, David Perry of Princeton, Tom Perry of Terre Haute, Jane Nelson of Terre Haute, Janet Dill of Princeton, Phil Perry of Princeton and Julie Curtice of Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Jennifer Perry.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN officiated by Pastor Brad Keenan. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Colvin Funeral Home is honored to serve the Deffendall family.
