Joyce LaBarbera Obituary

Joyce G. LaBarbera, 83, of Princeton, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She was born October 5, 1935 to Herman George William Witt & Almeda Louise (Lott) Witt in Woonsocket, South Dakota. She was one of 10 siblings and learned from a young age how to love and care for her family. Family was number one to Joyce and second was her faith, which she considered herself a Lutheran. She moved to the Princeton area from Chicago where she'd spent 23 years with the Chicago Police Department in the warrants and the auto-theft department offices. She was a proud supporter of the police department as well as a huge Chicago Cubs fan. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Edward LaBarbera, Jr. (Glenda) of Lakin, Kansas and Anthony LaBarbera of Princeton; daughter, Tina Marie Hammer (Randy) of Atwood, Illinois; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mario LaBarbera; and her 9 siblings.

Private services will be held in South Dakota at a later date.
