Linda Sue Carter, 76, of Francisco, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at her home. She was born September 22, 1942 in Portland, Kentucky to the late Wallace Allen and Mary Marie (Wilcoxen) Parsons. She had resided in Francisco for the past 23 years after living in the Princeton and Pike County areas. She was a coal miner, retiring in 2002 from Kindall Mine and had formerly worked for 4 years for AMAX mining in Keensburg, IL from 1974-1978 and was a member of UMWA Local No. 5179. She had also been a beautician and retired from that in 2014.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, David Eugene Carter, to whom she was married December 7, 1995; 2 children, Annette (Holder) Dalton of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Veryl “Chip” Holder (Lisa) of Otwell, IN; 5 step-children, Sherry McCoy (James) of Vincennes, Linda Ingram (Cliff) of Princeton, Scott Carter (Michelle) of Francisco, Eric Carter (Robin) of Princeton and Jenny White (J. D.) of Patoka; a sister, Barbara Fisher of Kentucky; 16 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 siblings, Jeanette Garrison and Jack Parsons.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Dennis McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at Francisco Community Cemetery in Francisco. Visitation will be from 9 until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home. All times listed are Central Standard Time.
