Rev. Ralph H. Walters, 102, of Princeton, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born January 2, 1917 in Troy Grove, IL to the late Dr. Marvin and Ella Mae (Kelsey) Walters. He served his country in the Navy, as a Fleet Marine and Coast Guard as a Navy Chaplain during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Carroll College in Waukesha, WI and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. He was a Presbyterian Pastor his entire lifetime and served many churches, including the United Presbyterian Church in Princeton from 1961-1967 and Union Bethel Presbyterian Church near Mt. Olympus from 1998-2012. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge (I.O.O.F.) and the Rotary International. He had resided back in Princeton since 1994.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Alice Walters, to whom he was married on February 3, 1945 in New London, WI, 2 sons, Gerald R. Walters of Moberly, MO and Dr. David P. Walters (Anita J.) of Princeton, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Rev. Donn Lee Walters in April of 2012 and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Rev. Larry Dodge officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday. Burial will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City, with military rites by Retired Military Veterans.
