Richard “Scoob” Rainey, 54, of Princeton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born January 14, 1965 to the late Charles “Doodle Bug” & Betty Lou (Wallace) Rainey in Princeton. He spent most of his working life as a roofer for Lane and Jeff Head Construction. He was good with his hands, loved spending time in the outdoors, and enjoyed mushroom hunting. He was a member of the Christian faith and was a free spirit. He liked listening to music, especially the 70’s Rock genre. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending free time at Willard Library.
Richard is survived by his loving children, Danielle Shadwick, Brandi Rainey, Nick Rainey, Jessica Rainey, and Alex Whitehouse all of Princeton; 12 grandchildren; sister, Tere Teeters (Dan) of Hazleton; one brother; 3 nieces; a nephew; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deb Greenwell.
A private family graveside service will be held at Shiloh Cemetery in Hazleton.
