Rita K. McGuyer, 75, of Hazleton, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at home. She was born November 24, 1942 in Iona, IN to Samuel Arthur and Mildred Charlotte (Dedrick) Daffron. She resided in rural Hazleton for 49 years after moving from Princeton. She had worked at Potter & Brumfield and later Siemans. She was an avid bowler, bowling in leagues for 43 years. She enjoyed traveling, mushroom hunting, camping at the White River, shopping and going on day trips with her husband which many times turned out to be overnight stays somewhere.
She is survived by her children, Lynn McGuyer, Terry McGuyer (Donna) of Mississippi, Thurman “Bucky” McGuyer (Mandy) of Hazleton and Latisha Johnson (Mike) of Vincennes; 17 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Faye Junkin of Fritchton, IN; brother, Arthur Dwight Daffron of Nebo, KY; her cat, Callie, her dog, Nyx and her grand dogs, Little Bit, Atty Jane, Pickles and JoJo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thurman W. McGuyer in 2010; and sons, Leon and Steve McGuyer.
Funeral services will be at 7 pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Miller Cemetery in Cleaton, KY. Friends and family will meet at the cemetery.
