Terry J. Lee, 86, longtime North Gibson School Corporation teacher, passed away on Nov. 7, 2019 in Greenwood, Indiana. Born in Asheville, North Carolina in 1933, she received degrees from the University of Florida, and obtained her Master's encompassing work at Indiana University, Evansville University and Indiana State University Evansville. Beginning in 1966, she taught for 30 years in Princeton schools; 4th grade at the old Franklin Elementary; 6th grade at Princeton Community Middle School; and 2nd grade at Brumfield Elementary. She retired in 1996, but continued volunteer teaching in the adult literacy program locally.
Previously married to Howard W. Lee, O.D., who died in 1989, she lived on Lake Road for most of her adult life but moved recently to Greenwood to be near family. In Princeton, she was active in Tri Kappa, enjoyed book club membership, was a board member of the Princeton/Camp Carson YMCA, and belonged to the First Methodist and Hillside Methodist churches, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Her children were with her when she passed.
She is survived by Dana Savidge (William) of Savannah, Georgia; Daniel Lee (Melissa), of Greenwood; grandchildren Kathryn and Helen Savidge in Savannah and Caroline and Christopher Lee in Greenwood. Also surviving is her brother, Hunter G. Jackson Jr., of Pinellas Park, Florida, and niece, Lee McDonald (Dwight), of St. Petersburg, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home, Princeton, IN. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the funeral home.
