William H. “Bill” McEllhiney, 86, of Ft. Branch, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at The Waters of Princeton. He was born on March 27, 1932 in Princeton, IN to Henry W. and Helen (Gaskins) McEllhiney. Bill lived in the Francisco area most of his life and he was a farmer. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a former member of the Gibson County Farm Bureau, former member on East Gibson School Board and member of the Lions Club. He was a trumpet player and played in bands in his earlier years.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara McEllhiney of Ft. Branch; children, Stan McEllhiney of Princeton, John McEllhiney (Georgia) of Princeton, Jeff McEllhiney (Barbara) of Boonville, Bridget Reidford of Haubstadt, Rob McEllhiney (Dawn) of Nashville, TN and James McEllhiney (Lisa) of Francisco; daughter-in-law, Kathleen McEllhiney of Huntingburg, IN; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven McEllhiney; son-in-law, Randy Reidford; brother, James McEllhiney; and a sister, Rose McEllhiney.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, officiated by Stan McEllhiney. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery east of Princeton. Visitation will be from 9 am until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
