Alice Ann (Cool) Lange, 75, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at North River Health Campus in Evansville. She was born on April 26, 1949 in Princeton to the late Sidney and Mary (Milligan) Cool. Alice grew up in Mt. Carmel, Illinois and was a graduate of Young America High School in Metcalf, Illinois and moved back to Princeton in 1980 from Brocton, Illinois. She was a retired elementary school teacher in the North Gibson School Corporation for 27 years.
While growing up, her family enjoyed vacationing in Lakeside, Ohio. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the piano, sewing and traveling, especially going to shows with her late husband at the Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville, Indiana and being in a euchre card club. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton and a former member of First General Baptist Church in Princeton. After retirement she was a Pink Lady at the former Gibson General Hospital in Princeton. She had also served on the board of the ARC of Southwest Indiana.
Alice is survived by her children, Daniel Lange of Lafayette, IN, Susan Frechette (Bill) of San Antonio, TX, Jennifer Ridens (Jeff) of Haubstadt, and Alex Lange of Princeton; grandchildren; Rylee Lange, Winston and Hadley Frechette, Sidney, Cole and Grace Ridens.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Phillip M. Lange on April 6, 2021.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Kyle Powell officiating. This will be followed by a graveside service at 2:30 pm on Saturday at Young America Cemetery in Hume, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 at the funeral home, and again from 9:30 until 10 am on Saturday.
