Obituary

Allen L. Byrns, 47, of Oakland City, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, with his wife Virginia by his side. He was born September 18, 1974 in Mt. Carmel, IL and graduated from Mt. Carmel High School, and he resided in the Oakland City area since 2014, coming from there. He was a former ham radio operator KC9BGF and formerly was with Wabash County, IL EMA, where he directed their aquatic services and was a storm spotter. He was employed as a driver for K C Transport.

Allen is survived by his wife, Virginia S. Byrns; 3 children, Katelynn M. Perry, Haleigh J. Perry and Courtney L. Byrns; 7 siblings, Janet Byrns, Tony Byrns, Alice Byrns, Jerry Byrns, Nancy Byrns, John Byrns and Vickie Byrns; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Byrns and Violet Hutton and a son, Wyatt Byrns.

A funeral service will be held at 5 pm Friday, October 22, 2021 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Darin Nossett officiating. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 pm Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
