Amanda Jane Summers, 49, of El Cerrito, California, formerly of Princeton, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026 at her home. She was born July 6, 1976 in Princeton to John Summers and Mary (Whitten) Summers and graduated Princeton High School. She furthered her education at Bradley University earning a Bachelor in Advertising. Amanda worked as in technical support for Aperian Global. She was a prolific and respected writer, and loved spending time with her friends and family.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Michael Van Vleet, who she married May 10, 2005 in San Francisco. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Summers of Princeton; and a brother-in-law, Matthew Van Vleet; parents-in-law, “Van” and Mary Van Vleet; aunt, Sue Donnelly; several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Summers.
A graveside funeral service will be held 10 AM Friday, July 3, 2026 at Oddfellows Cemetery in Princeton.
