Anna Louise (Walker) Greer

Anna Louise (Walker) Greer, 95, of Patoka, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland City. She was born November 9, 1927 to the late Charles Wright and Nellie Maddox. Her husband, Luther Greer, Jr. and Anna were blessed with over 65 years together. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E Church in the 1980’s and the Oasis Assembly of God since the 1990’s. She enjoyed her church family and was active in the church as an usher, greeter, singing, and in the kitchen. She was a wonderful cook and showed her daughters how to feed a family with love. She spent her free time playing softball with her family on a team in Mt. Carmel and her family will cherish the memories of what a good mother she was, teaching good values and life lessons. Anna will be so dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anna is survived by her husband, Luther Greer, Jr.; children, Regina Greer-McDaniel, Claudette Greer-Cook (Ross J.), Leslie Greer (Roni), and Gregory Greer (Mechel); step-children, Darrin Hill and Riley Hill; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and other family member, David Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda Walker-McDaniel; brother, Leroy Calvin; son-in-law, Larrie McDaniel; and other family members, Corrine Stevenson and Esther Gordon.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Oasis Assembly of God. Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station. A visitation will be held from 11 until 1:00 PM Tuesday at the church.
