Arlis Cundiff, 96, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Lakewood Home of Petersburg Nursing Home. He was born in Adair County Kentucky November 16, 1927 to the late Leslie and Annie (Collins) Cundiff. He married the love of his life, Lavada, January 1, 1949 and was blessed with 74 years of marriage. Arlis joined the US Marine Corps and proudly served his country. He worked at Emge Packing for 43 years before retiring. Arlis was a member of First Baptist Church in Princeton. He enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to his garden, going to church, and watching baseball on TV. Arlis loved going on drives with his wife and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lavada Cundiff; son, Daniel Cundiff; brothers, Malcolm, Al, Ralph, Carlos, and Bill Cundiff; sisters, Opal Beloat, Pauline Beloat, Frieda Strickland, Reba Harden, and Treva Catt.
Arlis is survived by his grandchildren Chad (Lisa) Cundiff and Kristen Dicus; great-grandchildren, Cameron Cundiff, Colton Cundiff, Isaac Fair, Kaylie Dicus, and Chloe Dicus.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton, with military rites by the Retired Military Veterans. Visitation hours will be held Sunday from 3 PM until 7 PM at the funeral home.
