Barbara Sue (Smith) Reed

Barbara Sue Reed, 74, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes following a brief battle with COVID. She was born on March 10, 1946 in Olney, IL to Herman “Doc” and Helen (Cypter) Smith. She moved to Princeton from Oakland City in 1969 and worked as a supervisor for Hurst Manufacturing. Her husband, Jarvis was her world and she always focused on him. She enjoyed traveling with him and later her sister, Quinith. In her later years, Barb was Quinith’s caretaker. They were very close.

Barbara is survived by her niece, Kim Wells (John) of Princeton; nephews, Kevin Leonard (Marilyn) Of Perry, GA and Michael Workman (Elisa) of California; former brother-in-law, Allen Workman (Mary Jo) of Princeton; and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jarvis Reed in 2017; sisters, Diana Workman and Quinith Pollock and her husband, Jack.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Tammy Scheller with burial following. Due to COVID-19 state mandated regulations social distancing and masks will be required.
