Barbara Whipkey Obituary

Barbara Ann Whipkey passed away on June 6, 2025 at Evansville Deaconess Midtown. She was born February 12, 1952, the daughter of Isaac Lowell Whipkey and Dorothy Alice Paddick Whipkey in Lawrence County in Illinois. Barb was known for being a loving mother to her daughter Kristine Renee McFarland, and to all the pets she had over her lifetime. These beloved pets include but are not limited to: Ruby Sue, Ebony, Ivory, Riley, Faelen, Bailey, Jasmine, Max, Samantha, and Gracie. In addition to Kristine, Barbara is survived by a sister, Donna Kay Lawless of Normal, Illinois, a brother, Robert Douglas Whipkey of Princeton, Indiana, many beloved nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Terry Vowells. 

A private celebration of life will take place at a later date. 

Barb was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin who loved people, animals, the Lord, and helping others. She was a hospice volunteer and was a supporter of Gibson County Animal Shelter. She was vivacious and had a zest for life and others.
