Barbara Genevieve "Genny" Wright

Barbara Genevieve “Genny” Wright, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones while listening to “I’ll Fly Away” on March 9, 2022. She was born January 17, 1932 to Harry and Lora Smith.

Genny loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She spent her free time reading, embroidering, doing word search and puzzles. She took pride in collecting dolls, which she loved dearly. A passion of hers was daily trips to the Goodwill and Dollar General Store. She also shared a love of Bill Bobe’s Pizza with her family.

Genny is survived by brothers, Harry David Smith and Robert P. Smith; her children, Linda (Mark) Schwartzlose, Robert L. (Myra) Wright Jr., Barbara DeWeese, Teresa (Carl) Johnson, Diana Wright (Dennis Turner), William Mark (Rebecca) Wright, Donna Bryant, Lisa Wright (Jose Martinez) and Tammy Wright; as well as 23 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Wright Sr.; sons, Donald L. Wright and Russell A. Wright; grandson, Michael L. Wright; great grandson, Isaiah N. DeWeese; siblings, Virginia Ireland, Charles Smith and Eldon Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 4 pm Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Tower Heights Church of God, 2005 Keystone Drive, Princeton, Indiana, with Pastor Jack Gatson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 until 4 pm Sunday at the church. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
