Betty L. Cain, 95, of Princeton, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Amber Manor Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born, February 15, 1928, in Giro, IN, to John Wesley and Eva May (Potts) Ice.
Betty lived in Princeton for several years moving from Hazleton. She had operated the Café above Demoss Drug Store in Princeton. They had owned and operated the Highway Plaza Truck Stop and Restaurant near Decker, and the Rivers Bend Restaurant in Hazleton. She had also worked at Hansen’s Manufacturing in Princeton for a short period of time. Betty was a member of the Hazleton United Methodist Church, and was a Past President of the United Methodist Women at the church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was known to enjoy a little cleaning around the house.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Candy Hunt (Larry) of Hazleton, daughter-in-law, Debbie Cain of Francisco; grandchildren, Emily Kamman (Chris), Natalie Roethemeier (Ryan), Joshua Hunt (Nina), Jana Frederick (Brad), Julie Robling (Chris), and Jordan Hunt; great-grandchildren, Madison and Lane Frederick, Gavin Roethemeier, Kinzley and Kye Hunt; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Cain; son, Curt Cain; siblings, Delbert and Jim Ice, Ruth Tolbert, Janie Arnold, and Margie Shouse.
A funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with Pastor Gary Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazleton Community Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the service time on Friday at the funeral home.
