Betty Jo England, 95, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, Arizona. She was born July 7, 1925 in Littles in Pike County to Joseph F. and Mary G. (McCandless) Davis. She had returned to Arizona 5 years ago, having lived there prior to the years she lived in Princeton. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Princeton and had been a member of the Doodle-De-Doers musical group. She had worked in Flagstaff and Douglas, AZ for Gold Bond Stamps and was known as the Gold Bond Stamp Lady. She enjoyed reading and collecting stamps.
Betty is survived by her son, Richard England (Lori jean) of Sierra Vista, AZ; grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Erica, Kevin “Boots” Jr., Jennifer, Justin & Jared; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia O’Neal of Princeton. Betty Jo loved her Indiana church family and Indiana. Her final wish was to go home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene M. England in 2002; sons, Philip England and Kevin England; grandson, Chad England; siblings, Sam, Henry, Rudi, Marvin & Esther; and 5 infant brothers and sisters.
A joint funeral service for Betty Jo and her sister, Virginia, who passed away on January 27, will be held at the graveside at 11 a.m. central time Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Martin Cemetery in Glezen with Pastor Brad Keenan officiating. Burial will follow. Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
