Betty Shelton Obituary

Betty Shelton, 83, passed away, at her daughter’s home surrounded by family on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was born November 30, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Fred J. Turman and Martha (Waldroup) Medford. She was a member of Bethel Memorial Church where she loved and enjoyed her brothers and sisters in Christ. She also enjoyed her Red Hat Society in the years she could attend. She is at her forever home now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Everyone that knew her, loved her and her beautiful smile. She was greatly loved and will be missed by many special friends and family.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Teresa Dersch (Hank) of Princeton and Cindy Miller (Mitch) of Patoka; grandson, Ryan Joseph Dersch (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Grayson Dersch and Addison Joy Dersch; and brother, Fred Randall Turman.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of almost 60 years, William “Bill” Shelton in 2016.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 13, 2021 at Bethel Memorial Church in Princeton officiated by Pastor Kevin Wilson. Interment will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service Monday at Bethel Memorial Church.
