Billie “B.G.” Gene Knight Jr., 77, of Francisco, IN was called home Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He was born April 25, 1948 in Princeton, IN to Billie Gene Knight Sr. and Cleda (Wells) Knight. B.G. married Rose (Hedges) Knight January 7, 2006. That same year he retired from Amax Coal after 37 years of working as a coal miner. B.G. was a member of Bethabra Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time watching NASCAR races and playing on his tractor. B.G. liked spending time out in nature hunting deer and going fishing. He was obsessed with anything Corvette and liked to collect memorabilia. In years past he even enjoyed scuba diving. B.G. will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and infectious personality. He was loved by so many and is already deeply missed.
B.G. was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Brian Hedges.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Rose Knight; son, Billie Gene Knight III (Rhonda); mother of his son, Ruth Ann Stuessel; grandchildren, Julie Vasquez (Stephen), Jennifer Thorne, Jackie Brewer (Josh), James Thorne Jr., Bryon Hedges, and Tasha Hedges; great-grandchildren, Cody Brewer, Lilly Reibeling, Evan Reibeling, Cruz Holland, Mya Holland, Myles Vasquez, Madison Brewer, Landon Brewer, Kadyn Whittler, Kevin Ruff, Colton Brewer, Lyla Thorne, Cheyenne Pieper, Tasia Pieper, Riley Pieper, and Dexter McNeeley; and great-great grandchild, Edynn.
A funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday, March 16, 2026, at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, IN with Pastors Brad Keenan and Scott Westerman officiating. Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Princeton, IN. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 4 PM until 8 PM.
