Bobbie Young Obituary

Bobbie D. Young, 77, of Evansville, formerly of Princeton, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Linda E. White Hospice in Evansville. He was born March 19, 1944 in Huntsville, AL to Robert and Molly (Webster) Young who preceded him in death. 

Bobbie was a retired switchman with CSX Railroad where he worked for 34 years.  He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967. He had lived in Evansville for the past 3 years, moving there from Princeton.  He enjoyed collecting coins, arrowheads and other things, fishing, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  He enjoyed watching football and was a UK basketball fan. 

He is survived by his wife, Dianne; 2 sons, Brad Young of Evansville and Michael Young (Dawn) of Ft. Branch; sister, Carol Young of Evansville; 4 grandchildren, Shelden Ferguson (Cody), Jered Young, Melanie Stodghill (Michael) and Grant Young (Ericka); 6 great grandchildren, Addison, Paxton, Kimber and Atlas Ferguson, Jordan Young and Emerson Robicheaux.

Private funeral services will be held with the Retired Military Veterans providing military rites. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Colvin Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and is honored to serve Bobbie’s family.
