Bonnie Barton Obituary

Bonnie Barton, 95, died on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at The Waters of Princeton. Born to Ottis and Marie (Crecelius) Clem in Princeton, she was raised in Oatsville, attending a one-room school there through eighth grade and graduating from Mt. Olympus High School.

Bonnie was happily employed by The Farmers National Bank for several years before marrying Howard Barton and becoming a full-time homemaker, residing in Wheeling. She and Howard met at Atkinson Chapel Church and attended for many years.

An extraordinary cook (her apple pie is legendary), seamstress, and gardener, Bonnie always made time for her priorities, whether running a special hot lunch to her husband in the field during harvest or playing games and taking long walks with her children and grandchildren, catering to their every whim. She was the ultimate cool, fun mother and babysitting Mamaw.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Marie Clem (Marie died on November 2, 1999); her husband, Howard; sons, Marvin (Sue) Barton and Edwin (Rita) Barton; her sister, Wilma Flint; and grandson, Derek Barton.

Surviving are her children, Shirley (Bruce) Foster, Haubstadt; Jason Barton, Brownsburg; Amy (Greg) Wright, Fort Branch; Bobbie Barton, Palestine, Indiana; and Nancy Spates, Alabama; grandchildren, Samantha Robinson-Adams, Nathan Robinson, Natalie Robinson, Tanner Wright, Liza Guffey, Jake Barton, Jeff Barton, Tracy Barton, Steven Barton, Brian Barton, Pamela Penley, Kelly Roper, Shawn McMillan, and Darby McMillen; twenty- one great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Phillip (Paula) Clem; former sons-in-law, Duke Robinson and Richard McMillen; special nieces and nephews.

Per Bonnie's request, she will be cremated and there will be no service or visitation.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the amazing staff at The Waters for their excellent care and concern, to Colvin Funeral Home for their service and kindness, and a huge thank you for the many years of care and friendship given by Dr. Brink, Jr., Dr. Brink, Sr., and Jane Ann Rogers.
