Bruce Perry

Bruce Perry, 86 of Princeton passed away Monday, September 9, 2024 at his home.  He was born October 30, 1937 in Princeton to Leslie Bruce and Juanita (Wetzel) Perry Sr.

Bruce was a firefighter for the City of Princeton for 36 years, a member of the Firefighters Local 1634. He owned and operated Perry’s Furniture Refinishing for 60 years.  Bruce had lived in Princeton all of his life and graduated from Princeton High School in 1957. He loved furniture refinishing, riding his moped around town, visiting the local coffee places, and restaurants to visit with people, listen to and tell stories. Bruce never met a stranger and enjoyed starting up a conversation with anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jessie Perry of Princeton; daughters, Jaquita Rainey (Paul) of Newburgh, and Sandy Ricketts (Bruce) of Princeton; sister Sharon Littrel (Doug) of Arizona; granddaughters, Michelle Shephard (David), Angela Rainey and Christine Howze (Cody); special grandson, Ross Ricketts (Rebecca) who helped with the care of his grandfather. 

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Patty, Carolyn and Nancy.

A funeral service will be held at the graveside, 11:30 am Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton, with Bruce Blaize officiating. Burial will follow the services. There will be no public visitation.  The Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
