Candi Gardner-Brown, 43 of Oakland City, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville. She was born July 6, 1980 in Princeton to Cameron and Mary (Schnelle) Sprinkle.
She lived in Oakland City most of her life and had worked in the office for Peter P. Transport. She was a member of Mackey Church of the Nazarene, was a former Girl Scout Leader, a strong supporter of the East Gibson Fire Territory, and the Oakland City Police Department. Candi loved collecting snow globes and snowmen, having quite an assortment throughout her house. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she was all about what they were doing.
Candi is survived by her husband, Edgar L. Brown Jr. of Oakland City; mother, Mary Sprinkle of Oakland City; father, Cameron Sprinkle (Marisa) of Princeton; children, Eric Gardner of Bloomington, Brayden Brown and Madyson Brown of Oakland City, Brandy Sisk (Lee) of Princeton, Kevin Brown (Jacie) of TX, Kyle Brown (Nicole) Napelsville, IL, Kayla Miskell of Princeton, and Ambrille Philpot of Oakland City; and 15 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Mackey Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jared Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the church. The Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home to assist the family with the funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available at the church.
