Carmen N. Leffler, 104, of Oakland City, passed away April 1, 2022. She was born November 25, 1917 in Knox County to the late Ivel Cooper and Lura (Wilson) Cooper. She was a homemaker and took care of her family all her life. Like most good women of her time, she was handy in the garden, canning, sewing, quilting, selling eggs, and redoing furniture upholstery. She was also fond of fishing at the pond, being a member of the homemaker’s group at Decker Chapel Church, and her membership to the Rebecca Lodge in Hazleton. She will be remembered for how much love she gave her family and will be missed.
Carmen is survived by her sons, Dale Leffler (Sue) and Robert Leffler (Diana) both of Oakland City; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2013, Jesse H. Leffler; son, Kenneth Leffler; grandsons, Kevin and Eric Leffler; and siblings, Samuel Cooper, Elden Cooper, Lucille Daughtery, and Aline Haverstock.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City officiated by Pastor Matt Malin. Interment will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City. A visitation will be held from 11 until 1:00 PM at the funeral home Wednesday.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Activities Department at Good Samaritan Home and Rehabilitation Center located at 231 N. Jackson St., Oakland City, IN 47660.
