Carol Jean Sunderman, 84, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. She was born August 3, 1937 in Hazleton to Arthur and Fern (Blaize) Lynch. She had resided in the Princeton area since 1982. She had worked at Dewig Meats for many years. She was a member of New Covenant Baptist Church in Princeton where she had served as secretary treasurer for many years and she also played the piano for the church.
Carol is survived by her son, Rick Sunderman (Dana) of Princeton; daughter, Angela Stiles (Charlie) of Patoka; grandchildren, Hannah Sunderman, Travis Fenwick, Tanya Rowan, Michael Pugh, Rikki and Alexa Sunderman and Austin (Emily), Rachel and Adam Stiles; great grandchildren, Audrey and Sawyer McEachern, Jayden Rowan, Preslee and Bradleigh Burross, Kylee, Breanna and Braxton Pugh, Lana Hill, Hudson and Packard Stiles; and sister, Janice McGillem of Florence, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William R. “Bill” Sunderman in 2002; son, Kevin Sunderman in 2018; and brother, David Lynch.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Jim Saunders officiating. Burial will follow at Nobles Chapel Cemetery near Elberfeld. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1st at the funeral home and again on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
