Carolyn Sue Downs

Carolyn Sue Downs, 80, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at her home in Princeton. She was born November 27, 1940 to the late Carl and Olive (Goldman) Robb in Mount Vernon. She worked as an inspector at TJ Maxx Distribution for about 20 years. She married Charles R. Downs, Jr. on November 7, 1959 and they were blessed with 57 years together before his passing in 2016. Carolyn enjoyed watching the game show network on TV. In her younger years, she was an excellent bowler and had top numbers for the area. She was also a lifetime member of the Princeton Woman’s Bowling Association.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Ginny Downs (Tammy Harbison) of Princeton and Bobbie Downs of Princeton; granddaughter, Amy Drogich (Brian) of Princeton; great-granddaughter, Cora Drogich of Princeton; and siblings, Kathy Schmidt (John) of Hebron, Kentucky and James Robb of Dale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Charles R. Downs, III; and siblings, Carl Robb, Melvin Robb, Rick Robb, Robb Robb, Phyllis Dillard, Joan Whetstone, and Sandra Leister.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Princeton officiated by Chaplain Randy Bechtel. Interment will follow.
