Carolyn later found love again with Michael Ellerbruck, affectionately known as Mikey, getting engaged in 2005 and spending 15 years together before his passing in 2020. They were members of Full Gospel Church in Oakland City. She liked to watch old westerns (like her dad used to) and spending time with her beloved dog, Baby Girl. Carolyn loved spending time with family and friends. She also thoroughly enjoyed going to concerts and coin shows with Mikey.
