Carolyn J. Wolfe

Carolyn J. Wolfe, 83, of Princeton, IN was called to her heavenly home Monday, July 20, 2026 at West River Health Campus in Evansville surrounded by her family. She was born March 24, 1943 in Princeton, IN to Voris Earl Fine and Rosemary (Bender) Fine. Carolyn worked as a bookkeeper for many years around the area, including IGA, Princeton Water Department, and finally retiring from Hansen’s in 1996. October 13, 1996 Carolyn married James “Jim” R. Wolfe and was blessed with nearly 28 years together before his passing July 31, 2024. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton, Daughters of Isabella, and lifetime member of Mt. Carmel VFW. Carolyn was a past Women’s Bowling Association officer at Gibson Lanes. She bowled in several leagues throughout the years. Carolyn was also a member of Princeton and Oakland City Country Clubs where she enjoyed golfing for many years. She was active in the Princeton High School class of 1961 and especially enjoyed meeting up monthly for dinner. Carolyn liked spending her time watching the Kentucky Wildcats basketball and playing euchre or Skip-Bo with her sister Pat and brother Bill. She liked spending time outside tending to her garden or crocheting items for the past residents of Gibson General Hospital’s 5th floor. Carolyn also cherished her weekly breakfast dates with her lady friends every Thursday morning. She was truly loved by many and is already deeply missed.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James R. Wolfe; siblings, Betty Wise, Jean Biddle, Sue Ann Beasley and Richard Fine; two infant siblings; and father of her children, Jim Woolston.

She is survived by her children, Toni (Mark) Krietemeyer and Jay Woolston; grandchildren, Briana (Zack) Lofton, Mollie (Kaleb) Williams, Lucie (Nick) Barrett, and Silvie Krietemeyer; great-grandchildren, Kora, Zola, Kaleb Jr., Quinn, Monte, and Mayvani; siblings, Patricia Winstead, Bill Fine, and Rita Nash; several step-children; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am Thursday, July 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Gary Kaiser as celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Princeton.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until mass at 11 am.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church school tuition program or Charles Ford Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the church.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Megan and Jenny at West River Nursing Home, Kendra, Clint, and Jennifer “Jo-Jo” at Charles Ford Hospice, and Lucie. They all had a hand in providing amazing love, care, and support.
