Cathleen (Frick) Minton Obituary

Cathleen Judith (Frick) Minton, 81, of Elberfeld, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at her home. She was born May 6, 1943 in Belleville, Illinois to the late Lester and Katherine (Reinhardt) Frick and worked as the owner and operator of Cathie’s Collectables where she enjoyed dealing, selling, and buying antiques along with her husband, Phil. She loved traveling especially in the winter to visit the Gulf Shores. Cathleen’s hobbies were vast and of all trades such as crocheting, playing cards, and playing “Words with Friends”. She was a wonderful cook and the best soup maker; although her favorite past time was spending quality time with her family, especially her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond measure.

Cathleen is survived by her children, John Minton (Brandy), Scott Minton (Debbie), Laura Nurrenbern (Jeff), and Cindy Pancake (Gary); 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Wes Frick (Marty); and her brother-in-law, Elmore Allen Minton (Judi).

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Phillip Minton; grandchild, Michael Lee; and sister, JoAnn Eddy.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon (CST) Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City. Visiting hours will be held from 10 AM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery in Evansville.
