Obituary

Charles W. Brown, 92, of Princeton, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Patoka September 13, 1929 to the late Clarence Brown and Helen (Styles) Brown. Charles worked for Whirlpool for 33 years and attended Friendship Christian Church in Princeton. In his youth, Charles was an avid sportsman; enjoying coon and rabbit hunting, and fishing the river. He enjoyed farming and had a green thumb with his summer gardens. He had a love for spending time at the river, and that's where his family still gather to this day.

Charles is survived by his son, Robert “Bob” Brown (Shirley) of Patoka; significant other of 18 years, Ruby Walburn of Princeton; grandchildren, Carrie McCammon (Terry), Gregory Brown (Amanda), Robin Young (Jason), and Ryan Coomer (Amy Jo); 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, David Brown (Dawnelle), Clara Hulfachor, and Janet Dunning; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Maxine (Lynch) Brown; and sisters, Carol Jean Jones and Mary Scott.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, May 9, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Patoka officiated by Pastor Gene Siverly. Interment will follow. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be given to the Friendship Christian Church located at 428 Lincoln Avenue, Princeton, IN 47670.
